Mozart's final work, a mighty 'Mass for the Dead', anonymously comissioned and left unfinished at his own untimely death at the age of 35, has long been a source of fascination and is one of the most popular works in the choral repertoire.  Here it is beautifully complimented by Jonathan Willcocks' contemporary setting of 'Eternal Light', written for the eightieth anniversary of the 'war to end all wars'.  A powerful and thought-provoking work, it includes musical settings of texts from the war poet Siegfried Sassoon, Laurence Hausman and Hindu scripture in its earnest appeal for a wold free from war.
