OC CLUB EXPANDED BY NEW PURCHASE

10 Aug 2017
Thames Ditton
The Old Cranleighan Society has completed the purchase of the lease on the neighbouring Weston Green Sports Club, doubling the size of the OC Club at Thames Ditton.

WGSC, which borders the OC Club, used to be the Seeboard company ground but in more recent years has been run as a private club. It has an old timber clubhouse, four football pitches and two derelict tennis courts.

The deal was agreed primarily to assist with the impressive expansion of the OCRFC minis section. Within a year the plan is that two of the four football pitches at WGSC will be converted to allow mini rugby. We are also looking at the possibility of installing netball courts over the old tennis courts.

The OC Society and OCRFC have invested more than £30,000 in renovation work to the clubhouse and clearance of the grounds to get the facility ready for the coming season.

We are delighted to be able to say that the combined club will be run by JJ Griffin, who has done such an admirable job with the OC Club.
