Bill Braid (East, 1953-1956)
2017 was the 17th year this washeld. It is always a very enjoyable, relaxed time with good food, wine and Cranleighan company.
The only criteria for attending is that you must be at least 70 on the day the event takes place (usually a Sunday during the first half of May)
Wives are very much welcome, and any member of the family who may be needed to help with driving you to the School. It’s an opportunity to renew old friendships, meet the Headmaster, and to keep up to date with all the many changes at Cranleigh.
The programme is loosely: coffee in the Emms Centre from 11.30am and then a bar 12.15 pm - 1.00pm. Buffet Lunch then talks place in the Dining Hall (with wine)
Mike Payne acts as guide for a School tour after lunch for those who would like, which is followed by Tea in the Reading Room.
The cost of the day, including all food and drinks, is just £15 per person. It has been agreed by the School and the Society that this will go to the Cranleigh Foundation Bursary Fund. Bursaries are given discreetly by the Foundation to children who have experienced a family trauma or bereavement and whom the Foundation judges would benefit from a boarding education in the School's supportive environment. We invite you to increase your £15 donation by as much as you feel able to.
