Twenty years ago John Burree (2 North 1944-1948), together with other OCs from the 40s and 50s decided to hold an Annual Reunion Lunch for all Old Cranleighans living in the South West. This popular event was held in East Devon and Somerset in the early years and 40 OCs often attended.
Recent years had seen a fall in numbers as the older members cease to attend, but we are happy to report a rise in numbers as contact has been made by our new South West OC Society Secretary, Garth Goodwin (1&4 South 56) to many who were unaware of the club and we have tracked down some of the 300 plus that now live in the region. Over 20 OCs who left Cranleigh over a 40 year span attended the 2017 Spring Lunch and we welcomed new members from the 60s,70s and 80s who will hopefully take the club on into the next decade.
The South West region stretches from Bristol to Bournemouth and West to Lands End so to make the lunches more accessible to the whole region we now hold an Autumn Reunion Lunch near Launceston for those living in Cornwall and Devon, and a Spring Lunch at Ilminster that covers OCs from the whole of the South West.
