After 11 years working in Hong Kong and the United States for The Wall Street Journal,  Jonny Wright (2 North 1996) has left the company and finds himself with a window of opportunity to do something a little crazy.  He will be cycling approx 2,655 miles, through 16 States with a total ascent of 74,265ft (2.5 times Everest).  Labelled by Jonny as The Atlantic Coast Challenge the route starts in Bar Harbor, Maine and finishes in Key West, Florida.

Jonny's ride will be unsupported so he will carry everything he needs in panniers and will be sourcing food, accommodation etc. as he goes.  The ride is to raise funds to support his friend Alister and his family as Alister battles Multiple Sclerosis.

Departure is set for 27th August with an anticipated completion date of 9th October.

Visit thenovicecyclist.com where you can read more about Jonny's plans and previous exploits, follow his updates as the ride progresses and find the link to donate.
