Virtual Music Masterclass

Providing a supplement to existing studies, a virtual masterclass in this extraordinary time.
Well this is certainly an unsettling time across society, backgrounds and professions. After seven months working 14 hour days setting up two music agencies with Cressida Wislocki (my business partner) whilst continuing to teach, freelance as a cellist and be the best Dad I could we had a roster of world class musicians all set to market for concerts, festivals and didactic work across the world. Just as the contracts started to come in and the big orchestras started to show interest in collaborations COVID 19 hit! Immediately safety of others became our first thought and our main concern. Cressida has a close family member in a very vulnerable situation and in total isolation. We have friends and family who we can’t visit or who are infected. We have musicians with all their income stripped overnight. We know that many of you will have painful and difficult personal and professional situations occurring and hope that you will not find the forthcoming proposal in any way tasteless.

Cressida and I are healthy and we know that young people deserve goals, artistic aims and outlets for their talent.

So, with this in mind, and in the knowledge that ABRSM exams are cancelled we thought that some current students or children/ friends of old Cranleighans might benefit from lessons from top class musicians who are sat at home with no theatres to play in or studios to record in. We are NOT in the business of poaching any students, merely providing a supplement to existing studies, a virtual masterclass in this extraordinary time.

Do get in touch with us via Vickie (ocs@cranleigh.org) to enquire and we at Hennessey Brown Music will do all we can to help you support musicians in a difficult time but, more importantly, inspire further learning and gain instruction from musicians who are normally so busy playing all over the world that they can’t give us much time to educational projects as they would like to.
