Lewis Bedford (Cubitt, 2012-2017) made school history during the match on 17th June against Royal Grammar School, Guildford, with a score of 172 runs – the highest ever recorded by an individual playing for a Cranleigh 1st XI.
His score toppled the previous schoolboy record of 150, scored by WO Stride in 1903. The highest ever was held by a Master – 204 runs in 1898.
Lewis currently stands on 1951 runs for the 1st XI over three seasons. The team is on track to at least equal, if not beat, the school record of 17 victories set last year.
