Round 1 – beat St Bees 4-1. Great debut performance by George Wilkinson who partnered Harry Milburn-Fryer to an 8 and 7 victory. Wins for MFJ/F Moore, Pickford/Boyle and C Moore/Kendrick.
Round 2 – beat Stonyhurst 3.5-1.5. Another win for George and Harry plus wins for C Moore/ Kendrick and MFJ/Whitty.
Round 3 – beat Greshams 4-1. Three in a row for George and Harry plus a good win down the last for captain Richards and Montie. Senior pros MFJ and Whitty were also successful plus Pickford and Fraser Moore.
Qtr final v Brighton – Fraser and Pickfaldo out first with a two-up win. MFJ and Whitty plus C Moore and Kenders bringing home the win at four and five.
And so on to the semi final on Sunday morning, our first since 1968. First out Fraser and Pickfaldo with a great win down 18. Lose pairs 2 and 5. Marcus Ferguson-Jones then comes home with his fifth straight win with Tony Whitty (just a combined 109 years of age). And so it was left to captain Jamie Richards and Montie. Won 17 to go one up but oppo make a great birdie 3 down 18 to go all square and unfortunately we lost at the 19th after the oppo very nearly go on the road with their tee shot. So close.
So a great effort by everyone with all players contributing at crucial points. A massive thank you goes out to all our supporters. Always outnumbered the opposition. Driving up and down the country each day It was really inspiring to have you with us.
